Chapter 7 : Alex was The Key
It was 5 in the morning
anyway.
Justin was out of town
looking for his prey. After he got one he decided to just go back to Neverland.
He was walking to his
house. He could smell somebody was in there. And he could easily know whose smell
it belonged to.
“dammit! What’s she
doin here?” he uttered, annoyed. He then opened his door and got inside.
“if you’re here for
asking me to kill Maria just like the other day. You better leave now cuz it’s
no use. I’m not helping” Justin said as soon as the door was opened.
The queen
already got up from her sit when she sensed the smell of Justin. She couldn’t
help but smile seeing him.
“it’s about time you’re
here. I’m guessing you went human hunting hm?” the queen said, smiling,
ignoring Justin’s words.
“none
of your business” he replied.
Her smile faded. She
figured maybe he would hate her forever. He was always cold to her ever since
she was crowned as a queen. She tried to move the thoughts away and thought
about a way to get Justin to help her.
“Mertha are you just
gonna stand there or what? My God! It was your sister yesterday and now, it’s
you. What’s again tomorrow?” Justin said, clearly he was annoyed as he was
leaning to a wall and staring to a window.
“wait..what about my
sister again?” The Queen asked, completely surprised hearing her name.
“she’s here yesterday
you know, just like you she’s trying to get me in her side.” He replied,
nonchalantly
“I believe you won’t do
that” she said, smiled a little at the end of her sentence
“oh? But I told her
Alexis is in your mansion” he replied
“what?? You told her
that? Alexis isn’t with me anymore now. The newborns took her from Cristy when
they’re out. Oh my God! What’ve you done Justin?” she said, couldn’t believe he
told Maria about where she was. He was apparently the reason behind Maria could
get Alex that fast.
Meanwhile, Justin was kind of surprised hearing that Alex was taken away from the queen. He
couldn’t believe that innocent human girl could be taken away from her that
easy. And he was actually kind of mad knowing that but he was oblivious to it..
“what have I done? It’s
what have YOU done?! I told Maria because I knew the human girl’s under your
eyes there. How could you let her go outside when you know it’s dangerous not
only for her but also for you and your land? so..the question is, what have you
done, queen?” Justin said,
emphasizing the word “queen” and it kind of broke the queen’s heart hearing him
say that and the way he said that. He was really intimidating. If the queen was
a human being she sure was crying right now.
“Justin.. I I was
just.. I don’t know. She insisted to go outside to enjoy the night as she knew
that she would leave today. So I let her go and I thought it wouldn’t be bad
though for her since she just wanted to enjoy the night. Besides, she’s with
Cristy” the queen said, kind of trying to find her words. It was kind of hard
for her to talk normal after what Justin had said. The queen could be a mess in
front of no one but Justin, when no one was around.
“it wouldn’t be bad?
Now look, do you think it’s not bad now? so.. you see that? That’s not my
fault! You lost her, you’ll get her back by yourself. You’re the queen! You’re
supposed to have control of everything. You’re responsible of everything. That
was at least what you told me when you left” Justin was speaking what’s on his
mind without thinking how hurt those words for the queen could be.
“Justin… I can’t
believe you said that” the queen said, her voice was so soft like the wind,
looking down to the hard floor.
“what? I was just
saying the truth.” Justin said, still staring at the window.
The queen was trying
her best not to let that get to her so she lifted her head up and looked at Justin
who was just staring at a window.
“Justin, look. I don’t
care whose fault this is but one thing that I know for sure is, you can help
us. I’m sorry, but I’m here asking you to help us and I’m not leaving till
you’re in to help.” She said
“and I’m sorry that I
can’t help anyone. Besides, we don’t even know if the poor girl is still alive
or nah” he said just a second after the queen ended her sentence.
“Justin, please!! It’s
for this land and for the world. No one on earth is able to fight her but you.
We all count on you. We’ve talked about this million times and you know that
it’s the truth that you’re the one, Justin. Stop with the bullshit that I’m the
queen and I’m the one who has the responsibility of this. In fact, we all know
yeah I have the responsibility but I don’t have the power to kill her but you.
And you know that now actually I’m doing my responsibility by trying to get you
to help us.” The queen was speaking what’s in her head hoping she would change
Justin’s mind
“Mertha, ever heard of
these words human have huh? You’ll never know till you have tried. So you’ll
never know whether you’re able to fight her or nah until you’ve tried”
“Justin, Liz told me
everything. And I don’t know if she’s told you this or not, you’re the one if
somebody else would dare to try, they’ll be over, that somebody including me,
it’s not like I’m afraid of dying or anything though”
Hearing that, Justin
turned and looked at her. It hurt him how the queen took him wrong.
“I didn’t ask you to
die. I asked you to fight.” He said, still looking at her.
Both actually couldn’t
help looking at each other without getting some type of feelings in the stomach
which would be breaking through their hearts. Hearing that, the queen looked at
the floor again and said,
“okay. I get it. you
don’t wanna help us. But Justin, Alexis’ there and just like you said, we don’t
know if she’s still alive or not. Alexis can’t be here only to get killed by
Maria. She’s in danger because of us. In
danger in order to save us all, she’s here to help us and look where she is
now. She’s there with her and we don’t even try to help her.”
“But no! I’ll try to
help her.” She said again, more like talking to herself than to Justin.
“It’ll be no use.
Alexis will still die. Not only that you can get killed but that also means Maria
will start the massive war” Justin said, not liking every word he had just
said.
“you know that but you
still don’t wanna do anything about it when you get the chance.” The queen said
as lifting her head up and looked at Justin.
She didn’t get her hopes
up anymore. All her words was nothing to him. Justin was just that stubborn. She
gave up on him. She then left him as she tried to think of the best solution
she could come up with. She couldn’t let Alex die.
“Alexis’ here for a
reason and that reason is not to die!” she said to herself as she’s walking to
her mansion. But on the other hand, she knew she couldn’t just bring a dozen of
army there in case of saving her because that would be just like a massive
murder and the bad thing was, the massive victims would be from no one but hers.
Meanwhile, Justin was
fighting with his mind. All her words was actually stuck in his head but he
just made it seem like nothing affected him and he was always a pro at it.
“the sleeping beauty
wakes up, everyone” Maria said seeing Alex trying to open her eyes
“where am I?” Alex
said, getting up and looking at her surroundings which was just like in the
queen’s mansion, big room and huge couch. Difference was, the mansion had dark
color while the queen’s had white.
There were some people in the room. Maria
and 3 newborns.
“my place, Alexis”
Maria said, smirking.
“are you..are you
Maria?” Alex was just guessing remembering last night she was taken away from Cristy by some random guys. She figured there was no one in this land who
wanted to get her besides this Maria girl people had been talking about who
could die with her blood. And it hit her that Maria had no other things to do
with her right now but to kill her. She was freaking out inside but she tried
her best not to show it outside especially in front of them.
“yes I am. And I’m sure
you’re the human girl, Alexis Enderson” she replied, smirking. Alex didn’t like
it at all seeing her smirk. It just made her freak out even more.
“yes I’m the human. And
what are you?” Alex asked, innocently.
That question had been
stuck in her head since the first time she heard Liz called her human when Alex
first met Liz. It was not a really cool meeting back then.
“oh oh oh so..they
didn’t tell you?” Maria said and made it sound like it was a dramatic thing or
maybe it really was?
“tell me about what?”
“well well well let’s
just say you won’t be happy hearing about that so let’s not talk about it. aha
since you know my name, I’m guessing you knew why you’re here then huh?” She
said as she was changing the topic, still smirking.
“I guess” Alex replied
looking at the floor. she figured that maybe no one would ever tell her things.
Alex was the one who
was sitting in the big room, the others were standing including Maria and they
were all far from Alex especially the 3 newborns who were standing in the door
and of course Alex had no idea that the three were newborns. It was always hard
for newborns to handle theirselves around humans.
“good. So you must be
prepared already that you’re not gonna have that soul of yours anymore in that
live body of yours any time soon. Am I right, Alexis?”
She was freaking out
even more inside. She couldn’t even respond to her. She kept her eyes locked to
the hard floor. She wasn’t ready to die, not when she left her boyfriend that
way back then. She should meet him and say her sorry. And she wasn’t ready, not
when she didn’t even say good bye to her parents and little brother and also to
her friends. Oh how she really missed them. How she really missed her normal
life. How she really wished she would wake up in her room and all of this was
just a dream.. she regretted every second of her life for ever stepping her
feet in Neverland. She was hoping for help to come but then again, who would
since she had no one there? she couldn’t expect her parents or her friends or
Joey or the cops come in the Neverland out of nowhere and save her when they
didn’t even have idea where she was, especially at the fact that she never had
anything with her every time she was out, in this case was a cell phone that
could be useful when somebody was lost. Somebody could use their phone by calling
whoever they know or just by texting them to ask for help at times like that. Maybe
that was just her lack or perhaps that was just her destiny because then again,
we gotta remember that everything happens for a reason. What about Justin? he
didn’t care about her at all. The queen and her army? Oh they wouldn’t fight for
somebody like her. After all, since Justin didn’t wanna help, she wasn’t worth
it even with her blood that people were saying could kill Maria. At least that
was just what she thought.
“Alexis Enderson, how
dare you ignoring me huh?”
Maria’s voice made Alex
startled and made her come back to reality after a minute or so she was
swimming in her thoughts. Maria hated it if somebody ignored her.
“actually I’m… I’m not”
Alex replied to her question from a minute or so ago.
“oh poor Alexis. It’s
not like I care though” she said, smirking
And then something
popped up in Alex’ head. She didn’t want to die without knowing the truth. All
her questions that had been hiding in the corner of her head should be answered
before she died. It’s not like she was willing to die and it’s not like she
would be ready to die after the questions were answered. She was just trying to
waste time while she was getting to know the truth. She knew that it was
impossible that help would come but she felt like it could be possible. Then
again, a girl could always hope, right?
“I know. But, may I
know why that it’s only my blood that’s able to kill you?” Alex asked.
“hmm actually I don’t
really know why since I’m not Liz, the Ms. Know It All, I’m sure you’ve met her
before, anyway.” Maria replied shrugging her shoulders.
“but what I do know is
your blood’s the death of me meaning I should finish you off” she said again,
smirking
“oh right” Alex said,
trying to smile a little.
Maria grinned and then a
question popped up in her head
“by the way, how could
you get here? did Mertha kidnap you and brought you here?” she asked, smirking
at the end of her sentence.
“no. unfortunately.”
She replied lifting her head up.
“so?”
“I was just walking and
then I got here and I was chased by some random boys but then Justin helped me”
“Justin helps no one”
Maria said, grinning
“maybe you’re right cuz
I ended up being locked in his house” she replied, shrugging her shoulders.
Hearing that, Maria and her 3 newborns grinned.
“plus being in here”
Maria said, smirking
“what are you saying?”
Alex asked, completely having no clue of what Maria meant by that
“you’re here because of
him too” she replied, grinning. The 3 newborns chuckled.
Was Alex surprised by
that? The answer was, not really.
“I hate him since the
beginning and always will” Alex said speaking what was supposed to be in her
head
Maria and the 3
newborns chuckled.
“but he’s pretty
charming. No one will really hate him” Maria said, smirking.
“and he’s pretty an
asshole so I hate him” Alex said, once again she was speaking what was supposed
to be in her head.
Maria and her newborns
chuckled hearing that.
“Maria, he’s in the
land” somebody was speaking in the door and soon they all stopped chuckling
while Alex was wondering in her head “who could “he” possibly mean?”
“about time the kid’s
here. c’mon Maria, call him. We really can’t wait any longer anymore to taste
her” one of the three newborns said.
“don’t tell me what I
should do, Gerald” she replied.
“Alexis Enderson, enjoy
your beating heart while you still can” Maria said, grinning and then Alex was
left alone in the big room.
