Neverland isn’t Called Never Land for Nothing

Chapter 8 : The Key Was Needed And Wanted

That was it, she couldn’t help it anymore, she was crying her eyes out, she was freaking out inside and out. She hugged herself as she was crying on the huge couch.

When the door opened again, that meant she would lose her soul. She would die in seconds. She would die in a random land she didn’t even know. She would die because of being killed. She would die and no one in her family would know. She would die and she wasn’t even close to the word “ready” itself. That’s all what’s in her head and what she was feeling.

Meanwhile, Maria was telling Justin about Alex was in her hands but it was actually no use since Justin already knew.

Justin was standing in his room, looking at the outside world from his huge window. He was thinking about things and fighting against thinking about them at the same time. He cared for Queen Mertha and always would. He never wanted her near around danger but she chose the danger herself instead. For Justin, being a queen is just too much and it just makes you get so much weight on your shoulders and along with it, is danger. But for her, being a queen is an honor since you’re asked from the previous queen’s mouth and since you know that you will make a great queen in the land. Since then, his relationship with her went downhill. He never wanted a massive war to happen. But he knew it would happen eventually and Queen Mertha would be the one who would be fighting her ass off to save the land and the world. Justin didn’t like the sound of it but he wouldn’t do much about it since she chose being a queen over being with him and that only meant he didn’t have anything to do with her anymore. In the middle of thinking about that, Alex’ face would always pop up and it did bother Justin. He had no idea how the human girl could find a way to be something he would think about without he even realized it.

It was 7 pm.

A sound of a phone ringing was heard and it stopped him from thinking things. He picked the phone lazily knowing it was just Maria who was calling.

“what?” he urged just right after he picked his cell phone.

“aww c’mon Justin, chill. I’ve got a good news for you babe” she said and Justin could picture her smirk which he kinda didn’t like.

“don’t babe me” he said, kind of annoyed.

“okay okay. By the way, she’s in my mansion”

He wasn’t surprised since he already knew but it just made him think about the poor little human girl again.

“Justin, you still there? Anyway since you helped me finding her in a minute, I guess now you have half of her blood and my newborns will have the rest so if you wanna taste the precious blood you know where to go” she said after figuring that Justin wouldn’t respond.

“okay” he said nonchalantly and ended the call.

He couldn’t help it anymore with his thoughts about Alex so he decided to just go to Maria’s mansion.

Meanwhile, Alex still hadn’t stopped crying. She kept hugging herself. She then felt the presence of somebody in the room and immediately she said to herself

“this is it”

“hey, don’t cry” that somebody said and she could easily recognize the voice but she kept crying and didn’t move an inch.

“c’mon. I’ll help you out” he said again

She didn’t believe him. She thought that it was only his trick to get her with him so he could get her blood that he really wanted to have since the beginning.

He learned that she wouldn’t respond him so he moved closer to her.

“hey, I’m just trying to help. Don’t make me change my mind” he said, kind of annoyed. He didn’t like it if somebody ignored him

“bullshit” she said between her tears.

She was obviously sick with him saying “I’m helping you” or stuff cuz he never meant it and Justin knew that but it still hit his button. He never liked it when somebody talked shit with him especially when he was trying to be nice. So he moved really closer to her.

“don’t talk shit with me” he said straight to her face. He sounded really cold and firm and it obviously startled Alex.

She stopped crying in seconds but remained still. She sure as hell she made him mad so she didn’t want to see his furious face.

“you’re fucking with me since the beginning. You should be grateful I’m here to save you but you’re acting like a bitch instead” he said still right in front of her face

No one ever cursed to her or called her a bitch because she knew she wasn’t and hearing Justin say the words to her, it hit her. She lifted her head up and looked at him in the eyes and said

“I’m not a bitch” she said, firmly.

She really wanted to punch him but she didn’t want her hand broken just like the other day. Their eyes locked. And there was something different with his eyes at the time, they were red. There was no black in it. she was guessing he was using contact lens..

“I don’t need your help. Can you just leave me alone?” she said again

“what the fuck?! So you wanna die huh?”

“I don’t want to die. But I don’t want you to help me.”

“fuck you!!” he said straight to her face, really close that their noses touched. He was intimidating her with his black red eyes and it made Alex afraid of him but she tried her best not to show it.

“I regret that I ever considered to help you” he said again as he was walking to a window and soon she was left alone again in the room. She then figured, he maybe really wanted to help her since he entered the room from the window instead of the door. She couldn’t believe she just let him go without seeing how he was being serious to help her.

Alex was messed up.

As soon as Justin was nowhere in her sight she started crying again and hugging herself tighter than before.

Meanwhile, Queen Mertha was creating her plan. She finally came to a final decision. Queen Mertha and her army would try their best to take Alex from Maria even if it meant they had to be in a war. They would go to Maria’s mansion at 2 am and hopefully most of the newborns were out for a hunting.

It was midnight. Justin was sitting on a tree and thinking about things, about Alex to be exact. He had no idea why he kept thinking about her when she clearly said it that she didn’t want him to help her. He just couldn’t help it. She always popped up in his head and it annoyed the shit out of him. Anyway, he was succeed dying down his anger after hours. After seeing Alex a few hours back then, he tried his ass off not to go out of the land and go wild hunting because he knew it well enough that it would be horrible if he went out of the land when his anger was on.

“that human’s able to mess with me. Fuck!” he said, still annoyed though.

He then heard his phone ringing. It was Maria calling.

“what again?” he spat as soon as he picked the phone.

“Justin, are you okay babe?” she said, kind of worried hearing how he sounded so annoyed and upset. After all, she would always care about him.

“fuck! Just tell me why you’re calling me” he replied

“okay okay. I just wanted to let you know that I can’t keep the human girl till tomorrow, Justin. I want her over by tomorrow. You better come here real quick so I can finish her off. You want her blood, right?”

“okay” he replied and ended the call.

“fuck!” he spat.

“okay. If she doesn’t want me to help then don’t take the blame on me if I come to her again for a fucking different reason.” He said as he was going down the tree.

“she chose death over live by herself. Fine!” he said again, he really was annoyed as he was walking to Maria’s mansion.

He was annoyed of the fact that he kept thinking about her, annoyed at the fact he got annoyed that she was so stubborn to just let him help her, annoyed at the fact he was bothered about her death and her life, and annoyed at the fact he had no idea why all of that annoyed the shit out of him.

Meanwhile, Alex was still hugging herself on the huge couch. She was now sobbing. She then heard footsteps walking closer to her room and her heart was pounding. She felt sick in the stomach every time she heard footsteps walking to her room because she would think they came to kill her.

“you’re still up, Alexis?” Maria said as soon as she opened the door.

Alex didn’t move an inch. She kept hugging herself and didn’t look at whoever it was who was entering the room. But she could easily know that one of them was Maria.

“oh lemme guess it, maybe because you don’t feel the need to sleep since you knew that in just a few minutes your life can be over. Am I right, Alexis?” she said, smirking as she was walking closer to her. Alex still didn’t move an inch but she could picture her smirking.

And then something came in her head. She stopped sobbing and lifted her head up and said

“I guess. Anyway, since I’ll die in just a few minutes just like you said, can you do me a favor before I lose my soul forever?”

Maria was thinking for a while but then she said

“what is it?”

Alex was about to open her mouth but then she was stopped by Maria cutting her off

“don’t expect me to tell your parents that you’re dead cuz I won’t do that” Maria said.

It hit Alex. It was her second wish for her but since she knew Maria of course wouldn’t do that so she just tried to forget about it.

“alright.” Alex said, looking down at the hard floor.

“so what is it?” Maria asked.

“tell me everything cuz I’m clueless and I don’t wanna die without knowing things” she said still looking at the floor

“like what kind of things?” Maria asked, kind of confused. Because she didn’t expect telling her what she was. And Alex got that. Alex knew they wouldn’t tell her what they were actually so she knew she wouldn’t ask that kind of question.

“I heard you wanna take Neverland from Queen Mertha and that you want to take over the world. Is that right?” Alex asked now looking at her

“yes” Maria replied. She was standing in the middle of the room. And there were 3 newborns standing in the door.

“why?”

“because I always wanted to rule this land and the world.” She replied, smirking.

“tell me more about it?”

Maria was thinking for a while whether or not she should tell her. But then she finally decided to just tell her since Alex would be over by tomorrow.

“okay Alexis. So, that Mertha girl has taken my crown. I’m supposed to be the queen of Neverland since I’m her older sister. But that Ms. Know It All told everyone that I wouldn’t make a great queen and people including Neverland’s previous queen believed her. That’s stupid. I mean, she could be wrong!” Maria was speaking. Alex was listening trying to figure things out. She figured the Ms Know It All Maria was talking about was Liz.

“but.. no one can stop me! I want to rule this land and I’ll get what I want. So I’ve been creating my own army which is basically more powerful than hers” she said again, smirking as she glanced to the 3 newborns who were standing in the door.

“but then a great idea came to my head. with this great army I’ve got, I’m not only able to rule Neverland but also the whole world and change you all the human beings into immortal ones.” She said, smirking. Alex was kind of confused, what did she mean by immortal? So she managed to ask her

“immortal?”

“yes. I’m not telling you what we are, Alexis” she replied, smirking

Alex was flustered hearing that.

“what was that supposed to mean? is she saying she’s immortal?” Alex was asking in her head.

“but then I began to worry that Justin will turn against me and I’ve been hearing the existence of you so I won’t start the war of shutting down Neverland and the world any time soon and create as many army as possible instead” Maria was speaking

“because he’s special so you’re…?” Alex was asking, she couldn’t finish her sentence. She wanted to say “afraid” but she was afraid that Maria would be offended.

“afraid?” Maria said and Alex only nodded.

“well, it’s not only that he’s special but Ms Know It All said that he’s the one who’s able to fight me so I’m a fool if I’m not afraid” Maria said

“he’s in whose side actually?” Alex was asking

“he’s in no one’s side and I’m really grateful about that but still, he can just go helping Mertha if he wants to, so I shouldn’t be really happy and grateful actually I guess.” She replied.

“why would you think that he can just go against you and help Queen Mertha?”

“well, I think when somebody has such a relationship back then in the past, it’s almost impossible for them to completely forget each other and don’t care about each other. I believe, the feelings is still there. It takes ages to completely delete it. So with that, when one of them needs help, the other would help eventually” Maria was speaking

“are you saying Justin and Queen Mertha was boy and girl friend back in the past?”

“yea”

This whole new information filled Alex in, especially with this one. She couldn’t believe that they’re in relationship in the past. And something hit her.

Maybe that was why he was cold to her than the others. That was why he called her with only “Mertha” and she called him “JB”. Alex was thinking.

“I didn’t get it why Justin loved her. I mean, she looked nothing compared to him. I believe Justin would make a great couple with me” Maria was speaking, smirking at the end.

“But Justin is always smart. He eventually ended their relationship when he knew that she chose being a queen over being with him.” Maria said again

“so they ended the relationship that way? It must not be good I guess” Alex was speaking

“uh huh. Now, Justin is really cold to her and she deserves that” Maria replied, smirking

Alex was trying to smile a little. She was trying to push aside her thoughts about Justin and Queen Mertha. She felt some type of way she didn’t like when thinking about those two in a relationship.

“you said that you’ve been hearing the existence of me?” Alex was speaking, as trying to change the topic

“uh huh. I thought Ms Know It All was just telling lies until I came to Justin and heard it from him that you do exist and you’re here in Neverland”

“what “lies” she was telling?”

“you, Alexis Enderson was born into the world with the precious blood in that body of yours that tastes like heaven to everyone in here but tastes like hell and death to me.” Maria said looking straight to Alex’ eyes.

“so I really am the one who’s able to kill you?”

“not you, but your blood.” Maria replied, smirking a little

“but..” Maria said again

“not again since you’re gonna die in just a few more minutes” Maria said finishing her sentence, grinning.

Meanwhile, Alex was kind of shaking hearing the whole new information. She figured, there was no way in hell Maria wanted her to still breathe. That was serious, she was really going to die in her hands. And the sad thing was, she really couldn’t do anything about it.

“alright. I guess I gave you the favor already. Now I’m gonna leave you alone here to enjoy your last minute of being able to breathe. Bye Alexis” Maria was speaking, smirking as she was walking to the door and soon Alex was left alone again in the room but this time she was filled with so much new information that it led her to come to a realization that Neverland people really needed her blood.

She was thinking so much stuff that dizziness hit her so she laid herself on the huge couch. The next second, she saw faces right in front of her, 6 faces to be exact. At first she didn’t know that they were faces from the same person since she was still washed over by the dizziness so she tried to pull herself together but before she even really tried she was already shocked by those faces after she blinked her eyes once that it made her see how those faces looked so pale. The faces looked blur. She shook her head a few times hoping that it would look normal and clear. She thought it was bc of her dizziness that the faces looked blur but then she realized, it wasn’t. Although they looked blur, she still could see how those faces were from the same person. She could see how it looked unbelievably pale and how it looked like there was blood on the faces. The faces were obviously from the same person but 6 of them were wearing different clothes and the blood never left his face. The 6 faces came right in front of her face by turns. Not only that they all were so pale, had blood on the face, but also there was something different in his eyes but she couldn’t really comprehend that but she was sure about one thing about his eyes, their gaze were sharp. The faces kind of creeped her out. They looked mysterious. He was mysterious. The boy was just standing there, doing nothing but just remained still, exception was he came closer to her face six times by turns with different clothes and it was enough to make her shaking in her shoes. It was clearly a face of a boy but to her lack she had no idea whose face was that supposed to be but she had that feelings that the boy was somebody she knew.

Meanwhile, Justin was already downstairs while Maria was making her way downstairs after having some little talk with Alex and after playing around with her dear newborns.

“where’s she?” he said as soon as he saw Maria was walking down the stairs.

“aww about time you’re here, Justin.” she said as walking closer to him

“I’m only here for the blood. Where’s she?” Justin said.

Maria was smiling hearing him.

“she’s upstairs. I gave her some little words a few minutes ago.” She said still smiling

“alright” he said and walking upstairs

Maria and 3 newborns were following behind.

“so sorry Alexis, seems like you only have a very little time to enjoy your last minute of being able to breathe” Maria was speaking as she was opening the door.

Alex’ eyes opened as she heard a sound of a door opening and somebody speaking. She blinked her eyes a few times to come back to reality. Apparently she fell asleep the last time Maria came to her. And apparently it was just a dream. She felt relieved washed over herself knowing that. The faces did creep her out and she felt like she was going to faint by the seconds seeing those faces. And then she lifted her head up to see Justin was standing in the room right beside Maria. Alex startled seeing that. Soon, Justin and Alex were looking at each other in the eyes from afar. She noticed how his eyes were still the same just like a few hours back then, pure red with no black in it. By the sound of Maria’s words before, it sounded like Justin was also in to over her. Justin was there for her blood. She couldn’t believe it, he was just trying to help her a few hours back then and now he came there again to kill her. And then it led her to think that she came to a realization that it was Justin’s trick a few hours back then to get her, her blood to be exact. She couldn’t believe how she was really close to fall for his trick. She couldn’t believe she felt like she was messed up just bc of his trick a few hours back then. Now that she knew, she hated him even more.

“leave us alone. I’ll let you know if I’m done” Justin was speaking to Maria, still looking at Alex in the eyes from afar.

Maria was thinking for a while but then again, she trusted Justin. So she did what she was told but before that, she managed to say some words

“okay Justin. but don’t forget, leave some for my newborns.” She said.

“enjoy” she said again as closing the door.

“so, you come again for my blood huh?” Alex questioned.

She didn’t sound good. Her voice was almost like cracking when she was talking. Maybe that was because of too much crying, that was just what she thought when in fact it was actually bc of fear, worry and sadness and they all were written on all over her face, especially in her eyes.

“last time I checked, you don’t want me to help you so I’m guessing you know that I’m here for obviously not the same reason as before.” He said walking closer to Alex who was still sitting on the huge couch.

He sounded really cold. Only with that, Alex was shaking in her shoes.

“so, the answer is yes.” She said, voice was getting low, as she stood up and looking at the hard floor.

“I’m not ready to die” she said again as she was walking back, still looking at the floor.

“I don’t care” he said as he was walking closer to her.

He could just walk and get to her in a second but he didn’t feel like it so he was just walking like a normal human being would walk.

“I know” she said, kept walking back and looking at the hard floor. She could feel how her eyes started watering.

And then, there, she stopped as her back was touching the wall of the room. She couldn’t move anymore. She knew she couldn’t fight Justin cuz it would be no use but she wasn’t ready at all to die especially since she knew the truth about how the Neverland people really needed her blood.

“I should’ve bit you the first time I saw you here.” he said. He was really close to her. Their bodies almost touched each other.
